Students lost in Bukit Larut found safe

IPOH, Sun: Four students who got lost while trekking in the jungle of Bukit Larut yesterday were found safe today.
Taiping deputy police chief, Supt Syed Abdul Wahab Abdul Majid, said the students had entered the jungle, about 125km from here, about 2pm yesterday through a short-cut but could not find their way back.

One of the students, however, managed to find his way out at 9.30am today and informed the police about his friends who were still stranded in the jungle, he said, when contacted, here today.

Syed Abdul Wahab said the search and rescue operation to locate the other three students was mounted by the police with the help of the Fire and Rescue Department.

The trio were found safe near a river at 2pm today. They were later taken to Taiping Hospital where they received out-patient treatment for fatigue and hunger.
