Taiping Transport Terminals
Taiping, situated in Northern Perak, Malaysia. Travelling by road is only 220 km from Malaysia-Thailand border at Bukit Kayu Hitam, 87 km from Butterworth – Penang Sentral, 270 km from Kuala Lumpur or 310 km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Take the exit at Taiping Utara at PLUS (North-south expressway) highway, you will be brought to Taiping town via Kamunting, if you are travelling from the north. Else, take the exit at Changkat Jering, via Simpang or Air Kuning to the town, if you are travelling from Kuala Lumpur.
There are 3 bus terminals in Taiping, namely:
- Kamunting Bus Terminal – Aka Kamunting Express Bus Terminal. Where, various long distance buses complements KTM/ETS routes through-out Peninsular Malaysia.
- Medan Simpang Bus Terminal – Located at Simpang (Opposite KFC) along the old trunk road. Where, buses services including KLIA2, Kuala Lumpur (TBS, Hentian Duta Bus Terminal), Butterworth and other destinations.
- Taiping Bus Terminal – Bus routes serving travellers to various townships in Perak, including Ipoh & Kuala Kangsar.
KTM Taiping Station is the main railway station in Taiping located at Jalan Stesen. Several trips a day by ETS (electrified train service) linking KL Sentral – Taiping – Butterworth in Penang & KL Sentral – Taiping – Padang Besar, at the border of Thailand.
